• Plains Twp. holds hearing on data-center overlay (citizensvoice.com) — Plains Township officials just held a packed public hearing on a proposed Energy and Technology Overlay District that could open parts of the township to large data centers and related power projects. Residents voiced strong concerns about noise, environmental impacts, and property values, while commissioners stressed the move is a preemptive response to state land-use requirements and that no formal data-center applications have been filed yet.
   

• Hanover Twp. man charged with beating teen (citizensvoice.com) — A 17-year-old girl injured in a daytime assault was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township for treatment after police say she was beaten and stomped along West End Road in Hanover Township. An 18-year-old Hanover Township man faces aggravated assault and harassment charges, with bail set at $5,000 and a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 30.
   

• HS ROUNDUP: Wyoming Area sweeps singles in win over WBA (citizensvoice.com) — High school athletes were busy in and around Plains Township, where Wyoming Area edged Wilkes-Barre Area 3–2 in girls' tennis during a match played in the township. The roundup also highlights strong performances from Dallas, Crestwood, Lake-Lehman, Pittston Area and others across tennis, golf, volleyball, cross country, and field hockey in Wyoming Valley Conference action.
