Oakmont Police Looking for Crossing Guard

Oakmont Police are looking for crossing guards.

School crossing guards help children safely cross busy intersections on their way to and from school and control traffic flow around schools in the morning, and at the end of the school day.

The position requires standing for an extended period of time while holding a stop sign, as well as using non-verbal signals to get and keep the attention of drivers and pedestrians. Crossing guards must also maintain control of pedestrians in crosswalks.

All candidates are subject to a background investigation and will be interviewed by the police chief.
