Back to School in Plum: First Day, Bus Schedules and Sports

August is here, and that means it's time to get ready to go back to school. Here are 5 things you should know if you're in the Plum School District.

1. The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 26. A district calendar has been attached to this article.

2. The 2013-14 bus schedule has been approved. That document also has been attached to this article.

3. Ninth grade orientation will be held at Plum High School on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Adlai Stevenson Elementary students who will be going to school at the old Pivik building (AS@P) also will tour the  building before the school year begins.

4. Finalized high school schedules reflecting changes in electives will be mailed to students on Aug. 15. Ninth-graders will receive theirs at orientation.

5. The Plum Mustangs football season begins with an away game on Aug. 30 at Bethel Park. The first home game will be against Baldwin on Sept. 6.
