How a Morning Routine Improved My Health

Mornings in my house are crazy.

Mainly because I'm not a morning person.
And also because my husband, who is in charge of cleaning the kitchen each night, usually leaves it until the morning. So, while I'm trying to get lunches made and kids fed, he is cleaning up.

That might sound like a complaint.
Actually, it isn't. I LOVE that he cleans the kitchen. I just don't LOVE when he does it.
Upon starting The Ultimate Reset, we talked through some system changes for our kitchen routine. Specifically for the morning. I agreed to make us both breakfast, Reset-style, plus his lunch (see, I've never really been the wife who does that sort of thing), get breakfast on the table for the kids, AND get their lunches ready, IF, IF, IF, I was working from a clean kitchen.
He agreed.
I am now on day 14 of my program.
The mornings have run WAY more smoothly. Everyone is fed. Food is packed for lunches. And there's not much left to clean up afterwards - which, I take on - since he leaves for work.
He's been a gem about this.
Systems. They are important. It is also important to revisit them from time to time to see if adjustments should be made. For us, this has worked for 14 days of cooking completely from scratch for three meals a day. And, for the morning hours especially.
My top tip?
Start from a clean kitchen. Get it done the night before. Awake to a clean palate on which to begin your culinary art!
