What a marvelous evening we have planned for you mystery fans on Monday, July 23 at 7 pm. Back in April Mary Alice started reading an advanced reading copy of an upcoming novel, Jack 1939, by Francine Mathews. Once she started she couldn't stop reading this tale of pre-war espionage that features Jack Kennedy, future president, as a young man on a secret assignment in Europe. Next thing you know, we had an event arranged and this is it. [Mary Alice is soooo looking forward to attending this event!
Francine Mathews will be joining us for a talk and signing of her splendid new espionage thriller Jack 1939 which stars the future president on assignment in Europe on the eve of WW II. Lest you think that Francine is not qualified to take on such a subject let's begin with her graduate work in history at Princeton and Stanford and move on to her years of experience working as a CIA analyst. We're sure that you'll enjoy Francine's presentation on this little known aspect of WW II history.
Not limiting herself to spy thrillers, Francine also writes as Stephanie Barron where she is the author of eleven tales of mystery that feature Jane Austen as the sleuth.
