Green Initiative Seminar Series

In the fall of 2010 The Steel City Rowing Club (SCRC) officially moved into its new "green" facility. In 2011 the park area was graded and seeded in native grasses. It now ready for the next phase of development which includes planting native plants, trees and shrubs this spring.

In keeping with the SCRC "green" mission, Steel City Rowing Club will host The Green Initiative Seminar Series Wednesdays May 2, May 9 and May 16, and Thursday May 24.

Each seminar is $25 individually ($20 for SCRC members).
Register for all four seminars for $65 ($50 for SCRC members).

May 9th - Speaker Jim Fitzroy, "Bees & Native Pollenators"

Jim Fitzroy has been active in the Bee Keeping Community since 1980s.He is a past  president of Beaver Valley Area Bee Keepers Association and is now listed as a bee keeper mentor for Beaver Valley Area Bee Keepers Association. A resident of Penn Hills, Fitzroy is a familiar face at the Verona Farmers Market where he sells his honey over the summer.
