The Self-Esteem Seminar is led by counselor Eileen Colianni, M.S.Ed. She has taught a 3-credit course at Carlow University for 10 years and has 25 years of private counseling practice. In the morning, The group will take a close look at how one’s self-concept begins to form, even in utero, and especially during the first 5 years of life. Participants will also explore specific ways damage to self-esteem can occur, even within loving households. There will be a lunch break from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Attendees may bring a lunch or enjoy a local eatery. After lunch, the class will learn concrete strategies for healing the damage and examine behaviors which strengthen self-esteem. There will be time for individuals to share their issues and to receive feedback. Personal sharing is optional and strictly confidential.
