Jensen Hired as Oakmont Borough Manager
Oakmont has a new borough manager in Lisa Cooper Jensen, former borough secretary and acting borough manager since April.

At Monday’s Oakmont Council meeting, Vice President Nancy Ride said she was “very pleased” to offer the resolution to appoint Lisa Cooper Jensen as Oakmont’s new borough manager and ex-officio borough secretary. Jensen’s swearing in was followed by a round of applause from Council and some attendees of the meeting.
“I was looking for stability [in this position], and someone who was committed to the community,” Ride said.
Jensen, an Oakmont resident, has worked for the borough for over 25 years, according to Council President Tim Milberger.

In a previous interview in June, Milberger said Jensen was a strong candidate for the position when Council was moving forward with a round of interviews with her. Milberger also said she was the only candidate they were considering at the time.
“She knows the processes and who to call for things,” Ride said. “She has history with the borough.”

Ride said in Jensen she finds someone who is proactive and has ideas.
The qualifications for the borough manager position are at least a bachelor’s degree, either education and/or work experience in municipal government, and broad expertise in the tasks the borough manager performs, according to Ride.
Jensen has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Seton Hill University and a Master of Arts degree from Duquesne University. Prior to working for the borough, she was a public relations production manager and a marketing director.
“I’ve received a lot of position feedback from [Oakmont] residents about her appointment,” Ride said. “I’m personally very pleased with the work she’s done so far [as acting borough manager]”
Currently, Jensen’s previous position as borough secretary has not been filled.
Jensen declined an interview for this article.
