Lightning Strikes Two Homes in Plum
Holiday Park and Renton volunteer firefighters respond to calls Thursday night.
Lightning hit two homes in Plum Borough during Thursday night’s storm causing minor damage to both.
Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Department responded to 5029 Hialeah Drive, where heavy smoke was reported. Firefighters discovered a small fire isolated in the attic insulation. On Friday morning, the only signs of the fire were some charred insulation and paper laying in the front lawn.
The second lightning strike, at a home on Rockland Drive, apparently knocked some bricks from the chimney. Renton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene Thursday.
