Majernik to Face Hrivnak in Plum Mayoral Race

Dave Majernik, the Plum Republican Committee chairman, has won his party's nomination.

Plum Republican Committee Chairman Dave Majernik will have a shot at becoming the borough mayor in the fall.

Majernik won the Republican party's nomination during Tuesday's primary election. He will face incumbent Richard Hrivnak, a Democrat, in November's general election.

Majernik received 698 votes during the primary. His opposition, school board member Joe Tomarello and former councilwoman Christine Scardina-Gazzo received 277 and 88 votes, respectively.
