Mustangs Come Back With Win Over Kittanning In Week Two
Jake DiGuilio lead the way for the Mustangs with two touchdowns in a 19-14 win.
Plum bounced back after last week's big loss to Franklin Regional and took care of the Kittanning Wildcats in a 19-14 win at home with Jake DiGuilio leading the way. DiGuilio had three touchdowns.
A first quarter interception by the Mustangs allowed an early second quarter scoring drive, highlighted by a 33-yard reception by Tarique Ellis, taking the ball down to the three yard line. DiGuilio punched it in for six. The point after attempt was unsuccessful.
The Wildcats took the lead shortly after that on a 31-yard pass play and after a delay of game penalty pushed the extra point attempt back, it was successful, taking the 7-6 lead.

On the next possession, Plum forced a Kittanning punt. The Mustangs made them pay with an eight play, 65-yard drive, highlighted by a 36-yard pass play to Corey Deloach, which was then capped off with a 2-yard run from DiGuilio for another touchdown. A successful extra point put Plum up 19-7.
The Wildcats didn't roll over though and came back to put the game within a five point reach, 19-14 on a 72-yard touchdown by Jud Toth.
But it just wasn't enough for Kittanning. A Plum punt pinned Kittanning on their own 7-yard line with just under seven minutes remaining in the game. Kittanning was unable to put together a drive and was forced to punt with four minutes left and Plum ran out the clock to hold on to the victory.
Plum's next game is next Friday, Sept. 16, at home against Woodland Hills.
