Obituaries - Harold L. Davis

Harold L. Davis, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Veteran’s Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2014, after bravely battling mesothelioma, a lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestos.
Harold was born in the Rosedale section of Penn Hills on September 23, 1924, a son of the late Louis and Marie Davis. He graduated from Penn Hills High School at the age of 17, entered the US Navy in World War II after his 18th birthday, and also served in the US Navy in the Korean War.
Harold was a proud longtime member of Steamfitters Union 449. He loved taking care of his home, family, and golfing at River Forest, where he had a hole in one.
Harold is survived by his wife, Patricia E. (O’Brien) Davis; sons, Gary M. (Lisa) Davis and James M. (Vicki) Davis; granddaughter, Jamie E. (Jeffrey) Rhoades, and great-granddaughter, Charlee Elizabeth Rhoades. He is also survived by his step-son, Michael D. (Sheri) Leach, and their children and grandchildren; brother of Gerald (Patricia L.) Davis and Louis W. Davis. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his two sons, Eileen (McLaughlin) Davis who passed away in 1995, his sisters, Rosemarie and Thelma, and his brother Raymond.

Friends and relatives will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Verona.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Joseph School, 825 2nd St. Verona, PA 15147.
