Obituary - David J. Barry

On Monday, June 9, 2014, David J. Barry, of Oakmont, died at the age of 88.. 

David was the beloved husband of the late Ruth C. (Sweatt) Barry; loving father of Beth Anne Gerrits, Martha Jane Barry, D. Matthew Barry and Ethan J. (Lisa) Barry.  He  is also survived by six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his beloved niece Nancy (Sam) Galvach; nephew David McKnight; and sister-in-law Anne Sweatt.  David was preceded in death by his siblings Peter Barry and Nancy Abbott. 

Mr. Barry was retired from the Oakmont Water Authority and past Commander and Service Officer of the American Legion Post #600.  He was also a WWII veteran with the United States Navy. 

Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Avenue, Oakmont, PA, 15139 where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 10:30am. 

Interment to follow at Verona/Oakmont Cemetery.
