Obituary - Doris Evelyn Murrell

Doris Evelyn Murrell, 93, of Lewistown died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the age of 93, in Lewistown Hospital.

Doris was born on November 6, 1919 in Corydon, Indiana.  She was a daughter of the late Alva Edison and Christine Caroline (Richert) Bell.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Gayle Carol Murrell; two grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters.  Doris is survived by husband, Robert T. Murrell, whom she married on April 16, 1942; son, Robert J. Murrell, of McClure; and two grandchildren.

Doris was a member of First Baptist Church, Mifflintown, Juniata County and the Women’s Auxiliary of the 80th Division Veterans Organization – Sergeant at Arms.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Rolling Hills Baptist Church, Verona with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will take place in Verona Cemetery in Oakmont, PA.
