Obituary - Elizabeth C. “Betty” Johnston

Elizabeth "Betty" Johnston, of Oakmont, died Friday August 30, 2013, at the age of 88, with her family by her side.

 Betty was the beloved wife of Chester "Chick" Johnston of 66 years; dear mother of Virginia "Ginny" (Jack) Kostur of Weirton, WV, Charles (Suzy) Johnston of Shaler, Judy (Jim) Schwartz of Squirrel Hill, David Johnston of Reistertown, MD; devoted grandmother of Jon Ryan (Marie) Kostur, Linsay (Brad) Mermon, Katie (Brad) Schneider, Mary Elizabeth, Julianna, Douglas Curtis Johnston; great- grandmother of Peyton, Bradyn, and Mady.

Betty will be remembered for her love of family, and her lifelong dedication to the Oakmont Community.  She will be greatly missed by her husband, Chick, her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.  Betty will be remembered and missed by the many friends that she touched and was loved by.

Friends and relatives will be received by the family on Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the BURKET - TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont.  A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Oakmont Presbyterian Church, 415 Pennsylvania Avenue, Oakmont.

 The family strongly suggests memorials to The Len Anderson Christmas Fund, P.O. Box 355, Oakmont, PA, 15139, of which she and her husband were some of the original organizers.
