Obituary - Frank S. Pistella

On Friday, May 16, 2014, Frank S. Pistella, of Penn Hills died at the age of 91. 

Frank was the beloved husband of 72 years to Katherine (Kay) Pistella; loving father of Frank M. (Nancy) Pistella and Toni (Bernard) Elk; brother of Angeline Pistella, Camille Pistella (and the late Joseph) Politano and Mary (Felix) Sciullo; grandfather of Frank M. (Lisa) Pistella Jr., Michael (Leah) Pistella, Gina (Jeff) Baldwin, BJ (Kristen) Elk and Emily (Ben) Moore.  He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lewis Pistella. 

Mr. Pistella was a World War II Veteran, and lifelong member of the Oakmont Elks, VFW and American Legion and also a Member of Teamster Local #249. 

Frank's greatest joy was his family and life itself, his smile and sense of humor made him endearing to everyone. 

Friends will be received Sunday 1-4 & 6-8 pm in the English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Avenue, Oakmont, PA, 15139.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:30 am in St. Irenaeus Church, Oakmont.  Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery where military honors will take place.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
