
Steve Facaros, of Verona, died unexpectedly, in Ikaria, Greece, on Saturday, September 1, 2013, at the age of 74.
Steve was born August 16, 1939, in Ikaria, Greece, the son of the late Theologos and Agyiro (Aivaliotis). He was the husband of his loving wife Grace (Tsambis); father of Theologos (Kyriakoula) of Murrysville and daughter Argie (Ray Gallahue) of Baltimore, MD; brother to Stamati (Popi) (Ikaria Greece) and John (Sophia) (Oakmont); uncle to Theologos (Athens, Greece), Agyiro (Dr. Sotiri) Gougoulakis)(Athens, Greece), Theologos (Fotini), Ohio, Zacharia, Dimitri and Sideris (Oakmont). the Papou of Sofia Grace Gallahue.
Steve came to Verona, Pa. as a young man to be part of the land of opportunity. He retired from Avalotis Painting Company where he enjoyed his work with family and friends.

Steve had a talent for telling funny stories and putting smiles on everyone’s face, and he loved sharing his homemade wine, swimming and boating in the Aegean Sea. Steve was a member of the Pan Icarian Brotherhood Chapter Icaros, and Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church Oakmont.
