Obituary - William E. Wicks

William E. Wicks, 58, of Natrona Heights, passed away at the age f 58, on Sunday, January 5, 2014, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Bill was born July 9, 1955, in New Kensington, to the late Albert E. Wicks Sr. and Mary Jane Wicks, of Arnold.  

Bill was the retired postmaster from Brackenridge and former Postmaster of Springdale.  He was treasurer of Lower Valley Businessmen's Association for many years.  He was a member of Natrona Knights of Columbus and a 1973 graduate of Valley High School.  

Bill's most significant accomplishment was his family. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, high school sweetheart, Toni Lynn (Cutrara) Wicks; son, Austin Taylor; daughter, Autumn (Jon Stiller); and grandson, Shane Anthony Wicks, all of Natrona Heights.  Besides his mother, of Arnold, he is survived by his sister, Jan (Darcy) Caliguri, of New Kensington; his mother-in-law, Theresa Cutrara, of Cheswick; brother-in-law, Tracy (Anita) Cutrara, of West Chester; and sister-in-law, Tina (Tom) Taylor, of Indiana Township.  Bill is survived by all his very special nieces and nephews.  Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Shane William; his brother, Albert E. (Corky) Wicks; and his father-in-law, Anthony P. Cutrara.

Friends and relatives will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont.  Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in the funeral home with the Rev. Sean Collins officiating.  Interment will be private.
