
David P. Bell, of Longwood at Oakmont in Verona, passed away peacefully at the age of 81, on October 26, 2014, after a short battle with cancer.
David was the beloved husband of Frances W. Bell; loving father of Lauren F. (Todd) Schuler; grandfather of Hannah and Matthew Schuler; dear son of the late David and Mary Dorn Bell, who came from Scotland in 1932; brother of Jean (Robert) Ewing, and the late Matthew Bell; uncle of David Ewing and the late Kathy Wynn.
David graduated from Turtle Creek High School. He attended and graduated from The University of Pittsburgh while working at Westinghouse, where he worked for 14 years. He was a Manufacturer’s Representative in the steel industry from 1970 until retiring in 2000. David was also a member of Valley Lodge #613 F&A.M. of Turtle Creek, and a member of Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church since the early 1970’s.

David and Frances were avid golfers at Alcoma Golf Club where they met, and later were members of the Fox Chapel Racquet Club and Longue Vue Club. David loved being active and outdoors – working in his gorgeous yard, fishing and boating, and especially playing golf with his wife, daughter and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Longwood at Oakmont on November 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private.
