Obituary - Dorothy F. Kost

Dorothy F. Kost, of Harmar Twp. passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 in Concorida Personal Care, Cabot, at the age of 91.

Dorothy was born in Library, PA on March 2, 1923. She was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Kamnikar) Feryan; beloved wife for 65 years of Joseph Kost; loving mother of Dennis (Cindy) Kost of Lower Burrell and Karen (Tony) Treshok of Sarver; grandmother of Jaclyn (Eric) Fiterman of Maryland, Cassandra Treshok of Pittsburgh, and Jarred Treshok of Sarver.

Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Oakmont High School. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church where she volunteered and was a member of the adult choir, and also was the former director of the Children’s Choir. Dorothy belonged to the Acmetonia Slovenian Club, enjoyed baking wedding and birthday cakes, gardening, and enjoyed high school sporting events, and the Pirates and the Steelers.

Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m September 29, 2014 in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Alan Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Twp.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to a charity of one’s choice.
