Obituary- Edward R. Kurtz

Edward R. Kurtz, of Fox Chapel, passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 80, Friday, April 11, 2014, in his residence.

Ed was the beloved husband of Earlene (Hight) Kurtz; dear brother of Frances (the late Joseph) Henke-Harris, Ruth (the late Walter) Duncan and the late Phillip Kurtz; brother-in-law of Dolores (the late William) Doak, Lois (David) Jones and Shirley Arce; and uncle of Scot, Karen and Craig Kurtz and their families, Christopher, Kristie, and Jason Jones and their families, David Doak and the late Cindie Rae Kontor.

Ed was an alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, was active in the Veterans' Progams at the VA in Aspinwall and attended the HOPE Program at HealthSouth in Harmarville.

Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, in the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont.  Funeral service will beheld 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, in the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road, Allison Park, PA 15101.
