Obituary - Eileen A. Whiteford (McCarthy)

Eileen A. Whiteford (McCarthy), of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, December 3, 2012, at the age of 66.

Eileen  was the beloved wife of John Whiteford; loving mother of Kelly (Warner) Mendenhall, James (Devon) Whiteford, Joseph (Gwenn) Whiteford, John (Megan) Whiteford, and Thomas (Elizabeth) Whiteford; proud grandmother of Thomas Mendenhall, Lilly Mendenhall, Caitlin Whiteford, Maren Whiteford, Lauren Whiteford, Joseph Whiteford, Emily Whiteford, Benjamin Whiteford, and Jack Whiteford; daughter of Marie and the late Dr. William McCarthy of Thornburg; dear sister of Maureen Lamberti, Jeaneen (John) Hall, Noreen McCarthy, Brian McCarthy, Brendan McCarthy, Martin McCarthy, Pegeen (Jim) Ward, Sean (Michelle) McCarthy; brothers-in-law, Mark Garrett and Anthony Civello; sister-in-law Lori McCarthy; 16 nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and nephews. Eileen was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathleen Garrett and Colleen Civello, and her brother, Kevin McCarthy. She will be greatly missed by a large community of friends and neighbors.

Friends and relatives will be received on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 2-7 pm at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11:30 am in St. Irenaeus Catholic Church.
