Martha Jean Dunn, of Oakmont, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the age of 75.
Marty graduated from Oakmont High School in 1957, received her B.S. in education from Clarion State College and her masters degree from Indiana University of PA. She was a long time history teacher in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, having taught at Arsenal, Schenley and Langley High Schools.
Marty was the daughter of the late Robert F. and Jean Anderson Dunn; survived by siblings James (Ellie) Dunn of Youngsville, PA, Bonnie D. (Steve) Hookstra of Ellijay, GA, Laurel D. George of Plum, Elizabeth Dunn Hays of Marietta, GA, and Rebecca (Lenny) Zucco of Plum. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Robert A. Dunn, David Dunn, Sr., Lee Dunn, Judith Dunn Rupert and William Dunn.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Avenue, Oakmont, PA, 15139 where a funeral service will be held at 10 am Wednesday, September 17, 2014 . The family wishes to express their thanks to the caregivers & staff at Westminster Place Presbyterian Seniorcare of Oakmont and Heritage Hospice of New Kensington.
