Peacefully with his loved ones at his side, Raymond Schmidt, of Longwood at Oakmont, died on September 20, 2014, at the age of 94.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Gertrude Schmidt, and his sister Virginia Headrick. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Madeline his sister-in-law Henrietta (James) Capano of Green Brook N.J. and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
Ray served in the US Army, Air Force as an adjutant and administrating officer. He was discharged with a rank of Captain in 1946. His life’s career was in finance and he retired from UBS.
Our most sincere thanks are given to all the nurses and aids for their love and care given to Raymond while at Longwood’s Hanna Health Center. -A great big thank you also to Family Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
