Plum Teen Wins French Open Title

Bjorn Fratangelo is the first American to win a boys singles title at the French Open in 34 years.

Bjorn Fratangelo of Plum became the first American to win the boys single title at the French Open in 34 years on Sunday.

The last American to win the title was John McEnroe in 1977.

Fratangelo, 17, beat Austria's Dominic Thiem  3-6, 6-3, 8-6 to take the title.

The young champ lives in Naples during the school year where he trains with his father, Mario. He lives in Plum during the summer months.

Growing up, Fratangelo attended St. John the Baptist School in Plum. He currently takes online classes as he trains.
