Soccer field lighting, security cameras and more discussed.

Here's a roundup of items discussed at the April 9 meeting:

Soccer Field Lighting

Plans to install new soccer field lights at received the go-ahead from council.

Officials agreed to purchase the lights from Musco Lighting for $79,900. They also agreed to hire Vince's Electric Service to install the lights for $45,000.

The borough and the Plum Borough Soccer Association have received about $50,000 worth of grants for the project. The soccer association will pay the borough back for the remainder of the project cost over the next few years at 3 percent interest.

The lights most likely will be installed by the end of June.

Security Cameras

New security cameras will be installed at the borough building this year.

Officials agreed to purchase 20 security cameras from All Lines Technology for $31,660. It will be paid for with grant money.

The cameras will be installed by the borough IT department and public works crew in the common area and perimeter of the building.

Paving

Officials awarded a contract for bituminous materials for road construction to Tresco Paving for $52,800.

They also awarded a contract for the 2012 paving program to Youngblood Contracting for $386,407.
