Police Chief Asks Residents to Secure Homes at Night

Oakmont police Chief David DiSanti advises residents to lock up after recent burglaries in neighboring communities.

After recent burglaries in neighboring communities, Chief David DiSanti is asking area residents to secure their homes and vehicles.

DiSanti said that from Nov. 11 to 20, there were three incidents in the Penn Hills/Verona area in which burglars entered homes in the middle of the night and stole wallets, cash, laptops and vehicle keys (to steal vehicles with).

DiSanti said the incidents occurred between midnight and 8 a.m., and one of the stolen vehicles was recovered.

He asked residents to be aware of their surroundings and make sure everything is secured before going to bed. In any event that a resident notices suspicious activity or has any information regarding the incidents, they are asked to call police at 412-828-3131.
