RHS Students Learn About Making Important Decisions from Oakmont Police
Police Chief David DiSanti and officer Mike Ford spoke with students about making drug and alcohol-related decisions.

Oakmont police officers took some time to speak with local high school students about making good decisions.
Police Chief David DiSanti and officer Mike Ford recently spent the day at Riverview High School and spoke with students about making drug and alcohol-related decisions. This year, officers also spoke about sexting, an increasingly popular act of sending sexually explicit messages/photos between cellphones.
"Most of the crime we deal with comes down to drug and alcohol use," DiSanti said. "Your life can really be affected by it, and it can haunt the people around you who love you."

DiSanti and Ford spoke about cases they've experienced dealing with the issues, and they touched upon an incident in Steubenville where a 16-year-old was raped and much of it was documented on social media.
DiSanti said students were very involved, and they asked a lot of questions.

"It was a wonderful, interactive day," he said. "I like being able to engage with the kids in the community. It's a chance to get to know them in an environment where they're not in trouble. This is one of those days I enjoy."
