Attacked Pittsburgh Synagogue Raising Money for Mosque Victims
Pittsburgh's Tree of Life synagogue, where 11 people were murdered in October, is attempting to aid victims of the Christchuch attacks.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Five months after 11 people were murdered while worshipping at the Tree of Life synagogue, its congregants are raising money for the victims of last week’s New Zealand mosque shootings.
Tree of Life has established a GoFundMe page in hopes of raising $100,000 to aid families of the 50 people killed and others wounded in the Christchurch mosques attacks. The suspect in the shootings is a 28-year-old white supremacist.
A statement on the page noted that immediately after the October massacre, the synagogue received the immediate, overwhelming support of Pittsburgh’s muslim community.

“Tree of Life members, and our friends who continue to comfort and bolster us as we recover, must now come together to support the Muslims of Christchurch.”

Tree of Life will work with GoFundMe to ensure that all funds are transferred to an organization authorized to provide support to the Christchurch families and community. Until then, all funds are being safely held by the Direct Impact Fund, an independent public charity.
