Sycamore Island - May and June Events

How fortunate we are to live along the Allegheny River, just a short walk from any place in Verona.  How many of you know there is an island, Sycamore Island, just a short boat ride away?  Sycamore Island, an Allegheny Land Trust, is making a come back.  So, please visit the sycamoreisland2014events.png site to see what is going on Sycamore Island.  Looks like some fun stuff!!  Just a paddle away!  Below are some of the events:

·         Sycamore Island Strike Team will meet every Wednesday at 9 am and 6 pm for volunteer work on the island

·         Saturday, May 10th @ 8:30 am - Audubon Society will shuttle birders to and from the island from Steel City Rowing, 101 Arch Street, Verona, PA 15147 via pontoon boat (https://www.z2systems.com/np/clients/aswp/event.jsp?event=14544​)

·         Saturday, June 7 9 am Urban EcoStewards (leave from Steel City Rowing) - free canoes to use.

·         Saturday, June 14 from 3:30 pm-10:00 pm - Bonfire, Boats, and Bocce hosted at the Cove (Blawnox) with a fun day of family activities.  Invitation to volunteers as well to attend.

·         We do accept donations online or via mail (www.alleghenylandtrust.org)
