The Oaks Theater Up for Sale
Owners of the Oaks Theater are selling the Oakmont movie venue.

Oakmont , who is one of three of the Oaks' owners, said other time committments have gotten in the way of running the theater. She, Cynthia Yount and Marc Serrao have owned the theater for 11 years.
The establishment has been a staple in the Oakmont community since it was founded in 1938.

"We've had a lot of fun," Burkardt said. "We hope it remains an entertainment venue. We want to look for someone who wants to continue what we've been doing and maybe even expand a little bit."
The property is listed at $450,000.

The 430-seat, single screen theater currently plays an eclectic mix of new releases, foreign films, ballet performances and cult classics. The theater also partners with the Oakmont Carnegie Library for book discussions, participates in community events, hosts a regular brunch series and serves food from local establishments.
Burkardt said operations will continue as normal until the establishment is sold.
