Woman Accused of Writing Bad Checks at Oakmont Businesses

The following cases went before Plum District Justice Linda Zucco on May 29.

A woman accused of writing bad checks at several Oakmont businesses has waived a preliminary hearing.

Suzanne Andre, 47, waived a hearing on a charge of bad checks; another hearing on a second charge of bad checks; and a third hearing on charges of bad checks and receiving stolen property. The cases went beforeΒ Plum District Justice Linda Zucco on May 29.

Andre is accused of writing a check for $8,840 to Marino Construction in Oakmont on Nov. 18, 2011; writing a $355 check to Oakmont Skin Care on Nov. 25, 2011; and writing a $75.50 check at the Oakmont Bakery on Nov. 29, 2011. Checks reportedly were written from a closed account.

Oakmont police filed the charges.Β 

Zucco also heard the following cases last week:

  • Eric Douglas Dancu, 27, of Plum, waived a preliminary hearing on charges of theft and receiving stolen property. Plum police filed the charges after an April 4 incident on Center Road.
  • Kevin Douglas Michel, 45, of Plum, waived a preliminary hearing on charges of driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.2 or greater with a suspended license,Β driving without a license, driving with a suspended license, careless driving and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Plum police filed the charges after a May 6 traffic stop on Saltsburg Road.
  • John Wesley Williams, 43, of New Kensington, waived a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, failure to keep right, improper left turn, turning movements, careless driving, and lighting requirements. Plum police filed the charges after a March 17 incident on Route 909.
  • James Raymond Reinsfelder, 41, of Blawnox, waived a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, restrictions on alcoholic beverages and careless driving. Oakmont police filed the charges after a March 20 incident on Hulton Road.
  • Christian Joseph Botta, 19, of Plum, waived a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance as a minor and purchase of alcohol by a minor. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was withdrawn. Plum police filed the charges after a March 2 traffic stop on Kathy Lynn Drive.Β 
  • Mark Andrew Uhler, 52, of Arnold, was held for court on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy. Plum police filed the charges after a Feb. 26 incident on Leechburg Road.
  • Melanie Slover, 22, of Forest Hills, was held for court on a charge of receiving stolen property. Oakmont police filed the charges after an April 17 incident on Hulton Road. She is accused of pawning stolen items.
  • Lauren Nicole Smith, 27, of Verona, waived a preliminary hearing on a charge of careless driving, two counts of accidents involving unattended vehicle and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Oakmont police filed the charges after a Dec. 8, 2012, incident on California Avenue.
