$12 Million Overhaul Planned For Conshohocken's SEPTA Frontier Bus Depot

Conshohocken's Frontier Bus Depot, whose buses serve more than 15,000 riders every day, is getting a $12 million overhaul.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — The Frontier Bus Depot in Conshohocken is getting a $12 million overhaul, officials said.

Representatives from the state legislature, SEPTA, the Department of Transportation, and the Montgomery County Commissioners will be on hand Wednesday during a tour of the facility.

The depot, which houses and services 99 buses that provide service to nearly 15,000 riders every weekday, is located on Alan Wood Road in Plymouth Township.

The major transit hub that is crucial to SEPTA's operations in Montgomery, Bucks, and Chester counties will receive numerous upgrades, include complete repaving, roof replacing, safety and energy-efficiency upgrades, stormwater management improvements, water-recycling equipment utilizing rainwater harvesting, and more.

The project is being funded by Act 89, which uses capital funds for transportation improvements throughout the state.
