A massive organized opposition from across the aisle is urging residents to show up and make their voices heard.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PA — The public hearing on the data center proposal in Plymouth Township is coming up on June 25, as a massive organized opposition urges residents to turn out and make their voices heard.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Colonial Middle School.

The hearing will mark the first meeting on developer Brian O'Neill's second attempt to build a data center at the former Cleveland Cliffs steel mill on 900 Conshohocken Road.

It comes as thousands have signed petitions to block the development and the Plymouth Township municipal council itself released a statement advocating against the project and directing the planning commission to reject it.

"Plymouth Township Council has determined that the application, as currently submitted, does not adequately address a number of significant concerns related to the health, safety, and welfare of Township residents," the council shared.

The proposal calls for a 2.2. million square foot facility on the 66 acre site.

The June 25 hearing is open to the public, but will not involve public comment, officials said. It's believed that numerous hearings will be required to fully resolve the proposal.

Colonial Middle School is located on 716 Belvoir Road in Plymouth Meeting.
