WHITEMARSH TOWNSHIP, PA — A fentanyl dealer has been charged with drug delivery resulting in death after the overdose of a 39-year-old Whitemarsh resident earlier this year, authorities said.
Rasheed Cotton, 48, of Conshohocken, was taken into custody Nov. 2, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Friday morning.
The overdose happened on April 21 at around 5:30 p.m., when officers were called to the 4100 block of Christie Circle.
Fentanyl and pills were found inside the home, as well as a cell phone containing extensive texts with "Sheed" about purchasing drugs, officials said.
Further evidence established Cotton's meetings with the victim, including surveillance video, according to police.
Cotton was released on 10 percent of $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 18.
