WPD Reports: Trio of DUIs, Lug Nuts Loosened on Vehicle
Weekly Whitemarsh Police Department reports.

All information is according to official police reports filed at the Whitemarsh Township Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Suspected DUI:
At approximately 4:05 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, a police officer on patrol near the intersection of Butler Pike and Spring Mill Road observed a 2006 Mazda sedan speeding north on Butler Pike. According to the officer, the vehicle was traveling between 50 and 55 mph in a 25 mph zone.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and upon speaking with the driver, Timothy Harner, 26, of Norristown, detected the odor of alcoholic beverages and slurred speech, the report said. Harner then failed two of three field sobriety tests and registered a .136 percent BAC on a breathalyzer test, police said.

Harner was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for a blood draw. Charges are pending lab results.
Suspected DUI:
At approximately 1:31 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, a police officer on patrol near the intersection of Butler Pike and North Lane observed a 1989 Chevrolet sedan speeding southbound on Butler Pike. The officer began to follow the vehicle and watched as it crossed in and out of its travel lane before stopping at a green light.

The officer initiated a traffic stop, and determined that the driver, John Cassidy, 20, of Ambler, smelled of alcohol and spoke with extremely slurred speech, a report said. Cassidy then failed two of three field sobriety tests and was unable to complete a breathalyzer test after four attempts.
Cassidy was transported to an area hospital for a blood draw, and faces charges pending lab results.
Suspected DUI accident:
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, a Whitemarsh Police officer responded to the 400 block of Bethlehem Pike for a report of a vehicle crash. Upon arrival, the officer saw that a dark blue Lexus had crashed into the bridge that crosses the Sandy Run Creek.
Upon investigation, the officer observed that the driver, Jocelyn Lamb, 75, of Saddle Lane, Lower Gwynedd, had slurred speech, smelled of alcohol, and was closing her eyes as she spoke. Lamb was unable to successfully pass field sobriety tests or complete a breathalyzer test, a report said. Lamb also allegedly told the officer that she had been consuming alcohol with friends at a nearby restaurant.
A witness told the officer that she observed the vehicle driving erratically before crashing into the bridge. Lamb was taken to an area hospital to have her blood drawn, and charges are pending lab analysis.
Criminal mischief/motor vehicles:
At approximately 11:55 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, a resident of the 200 block of Sutter Lane, Plymouth Meeting, reported to police that someone had loosened the lug nuts on the rear driver side tire of his wife’s vehicle. The resident told police his wife noticed the problem as she was driving, and that he did not know anyone who might have committing the crime.
Theft from vehicle:
At approximately 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, a resident of the 200 block of East 12th Avenue, Conshohocken, reported to police that someone had stolen the faceplate off his vehicle’s radio. According to the resident, the Jeep had been parked in the front of his residence with its doors removed, and the item was valued at approximately $50.
Fraud:
At approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, a resident of the 600 block of Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, reported to police that someone had made an unauthorized online purchase of $130.34 at Walmart.com using her Mastercard.
Harassment by communication:
At approximately 9:56 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, a Lafayette Hill resident reported to police that he had been verbally threatened. According to the individual, he had attended a concert and gotten into a verbal altercation with another male. Later that evening, that male’s father threatened to “beat up” the reporting individual during a phone call, he told police. Police told the father not to contact the reporting individual again.
Theft:
At approximately 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, a resident of the 400 block of Roberts Avenue, Conshohocken, reported to police that an unknown person illegally entered and stole items from his vehicle.
