Breaking Down the District's 2012-2013 Budget
The Colonial School District could spend $3 million more on regular instruction in 2012-2013.

The Colonial School District is projected to spend over $3 million dollars more on regular instruction in the 2012-2013 school year than it will in the 2011-2012 year, according to a document released by the district.
The 2012-2013 preliminary budget has an 8.34 percent increase marked for “regular education” spending, totally in $44,591,129 for the school year.
The district has also budgeted a 2.49 percent increase in special education spending, upping 2011-2012’s budget from $14,594,578 to $14,958,372.

Additionally, the preliminary budget for ’12-’13 has a projected 12.75 percent decrease in business services spending, cutting the 2011-2012 figure by $143,508.
