Coll's Framing to Release 2012 Conshohocken Year in Pictures Book

Took a photo a day.

How does one best capture an entire year-- from February snowfalls to summer festivals, to the falling leaves of autumn? Well, taking a picture each and every day is a pretty good way to start.

That's exactly what the Coll family of Colls Custom Framing in Conshohocken did in 2012, and now they're putting the results into a full color photography book titled "Conshohocken: The Year in Pictures 2012," due out in March. The Colonial News recently interviewed Brian Coll, who took many of the photos, along with father Jack, mother Donna and sister Jackie. Coll told the paper that the photos include shots of the every day life, such as a toddler playing in Mary Wood Park, to photographs of visiting celebrities, such as Ron Jaworski, Rudy Guliani, and Chubby Checker.

Coll said the project was fittingly concluded on Dec. 31, when a crowd in the hundreds, including Conshohocken Mayor Robert Frost and his West Conshohocken counterpart Joseph Pignoli, assembled on the Matsonford Bridge for the final photo of 2012.

The 12-by-12-inch book, which contains about 1,300 captioned photos and costs $52.99 ($56.17 with tax), must be preordered by Feb. 20. Those interested in purchasing a copy can send a check to or stop by Colls Custom Framing, 324 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, 19428.
