With all of the restrictions during the pandemic, area senior citizens were not able to visit Conshohocken Elementary School (CE) for their annual luncheon—so the students brought the meals to them.
“It is important to do nice things for senior citizens, because it can be hard for them to do a lot,” said CE Third Grader Sofia Salvi. “When kids give them things, it makes them feel happy, and it makes us feel good, too.”

The students decorated paper bags with holiday messages and festive designs. Then, the food services department loaded the bags with the usual meal of turkey with all the fixings, including pie.
“It felt good to give the senior citizens something they might not have and give them a good day,” said CE Third Grader Ky’Leem Williams.
The children took 35 of the holiday senior meals to Marshall Lee Towers and 30 the Colonial Neighborhood Council.
