PWHS Senior Katie Fitzpatrick, an elected DECA District Representative, served as the emcee for the Award Ceremony.
Ten Montgomery County schools participated in the events. Each competitor took a timed 100-question test about their subject area and then recorded a role-play response to a problem. The responses were judged by professionals who work in those event areas.
"Districts may have looked different from prior years, but our PWHS students still did an amazing job," said PWHS Business Teacher and DECA Sponsor Beth Rickard.
Ms. Rickard also serves as the District Coordinator, which meant that PWHS hosted the virtual ceremony. PWHS Senior and District Representative Katie Fitzpatrick served as the emcee for the awards presentation.
"The best part was after the ceremony when I heard how excited those who placed were, and I even saw a few reaction videos," said Katie. "I'm so excited to see all of our qualifiers at the state competition in February!"
