Conshohocken Bridal Store, Mainstay For Half A Century, Shuts Down

The locally owned business has been a part of the fabric of Fayette Street for decades.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — A Conshohocken bridal gown store that has been in operation for nearly half a century shut its doors for good recently.

The last day in business for La Bella Moda was May 31.

"We have loved being a part of our brides love stories," the business shared in a statement.

The 200 Fayette Street business has stood as a mainstay feature of downtown since 1981.

It was founded by Italian immigrant Lena Pagano.

"She came over from Italy when she was a young woman with a dream to open a dress shop," Lena's granddaughter and the latest owner, Gabriella Rush, shared on the shop's 44th anniversary. "After learning the language and supporting her family, she eventually opened La Bella Moda."

Rush took over the shop at the start of 2020 just before the pandemic.

It's not yet known what might fill the now vacant space on Fayette Street.
