Cops: Man Fired Shots, Attacked K-9, Shouted 'Terroristic Threats' Near Bucks County High School

The suspect fired shots with an auto assault rifle. Cops said they found him hiding in bushes near a "baseball bat and a bottle of whiskey."

A man started a fight at a bar, fired an auto-assault weapon into the air, and then attacked a police K-9 unit before being arrested near Pennsbury High School early Thursday morning, according to the Falls Township Police Department.

Michael Hutcheon, 37, of Torresdale, was allegedly the instigator of a fight at the Band Box Bar at about 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning, police said.

He then left the bar and was wandering around the area of Pennsbury High School, firing an auto assault rifle, according to police.

Officers and the K-9 tracked him to a spot behind several houses on Amelia Drive, where they found a baseball bat and a bottle of whiskey, supposedly belonging to Hutcheon, police said.

Hutcheon was finally discovered hiding in the dense bushes behind Jo-Jo’s Ice Cream, according to police.

When the K-9 went to investigate, he kicked out at the dog repeatedly, police said.

By this point police said they had determined that the man was no longer armed, and took him into custody without further incident.

Hutcheon is charged with terroristic threats, resisting arrest, loitering and prowling, and taunting police animals, among other offenses, according to the arrest report.
