Date Set for Annual Whitemarsh Pumpkin Festival

Organizers now accepting sponsors and vendors.

With fall swiftly approaching, the date for the annual Pumpkin Festival has been set as Saturday, Oct. 13, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The rain date is Oct. 14.

The event will again be held at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School's Victory Field, after a successful move to the location last year.

"The decision to move to that location was based on the amount of available space, pedestrian traffic safety, and availability of parking," a release from host Whitemarsh Business Association said. "The decision proved to be a great one and was much appreciated by the community."

The letter says that the festival will be bringing back popular events such as face painting, pumpkin decorating, pony rides, and cupcake decorating from the 2011 festival, which drew approximately 3,000 people.

This year, the WBA says its aiming to further improve the experience for participating businesses, by adding a listing page to the festival program, free table space in the WBA tent, and discounted vendor space.
