Diana: Goddess of the Great Stair Hall

On Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m., the Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library once again will host Steve Wills, Coordinator of the Wachovia Education Resource Center, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and former Language Arts Teacher and Department Chair, Colonial School District. This year, Wills’s presentation will focus on the fascinating history of the dramatic figure of Diana, which graces an illuminated niche atop the Great Stair at the museum. The golden goddess made her debut in 1893 as a weathervane, perched above the original Madison Square Garden.

Free and Open to the Public @ the Jeanes

This event is free and open to the public, and will follow the brief Annual Meeting of the Friends organization. The Jeanes library, which serves as the public library for Whitemarsh Township, is located at 4051 Joshua Road in Lafayette Hill. The Friends will gather in the Willaman Community Commons on the library’s lower level.
