Fight Wins First USARL Championship

The Conshohocken-based team bested New Haven at home on Saturday.

The Philadelphia Fight bested New Haven to win the inagural USA Rugby League Championship on Saturday in Conshohocken.

After building a 14-to-nothing lead at the end of the first half, Philadelphia won the game on a goal by Aussie import Joel Weeks with 2:28 remaining in the match to secure a 28-26 victory over the Warriors. New Haven scored 20 unanswered points in the second half before two late-game scores gave the Fight the win.
