Schuylkill Reopens After Fire Shuts Down Westbound Lanes
Breaking: A car fire on the Schuylkill Expressway shut down the westbound lanes Tuesday afternoon.

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — A car fire on the Schuylkill Expressway shut down the westbound lanes Tuesday afternoon, leading to major backups on the already congested roadways.
The incident occurred at 2:46 p.m. near the ramp to I-476 north. The roadway was reopened by around 3:35 p.m.
The westbound closure on the Schuylkill was in place between Exit 331-B and I-476 north.

Traffic was backed up in the westbound lanes all the way from the Conshohocken curve down to Martin Luther King Drive in Phialdelphia at around 3:30 p.m.
There were also heavy backups in West Conshohocken at Front Street and Crawford Avenue.

First responders and firefighters responded to the scene.
No injuries have yet been reported.
