Lafayette Hill Retirement Community Announces $14.5m Expansion
The Masonic Village will increase its apartment count by nearly 50 percent.

The Masonic Village retirement community, located at 801 Ridge Pike in Lafayette Hill, announced a $14.5 million expansion last week.
The expansion will include approximately 62,000 square feet of space in 45 apartments, bringing the total number of units up to 143. The building's facade will also be updated for a "more contemporary look."
Construction will begin once 70 percent of the apartments have been reserved, and management expects construction will be completed in late 2013 or early 2014.
The community serves active individuals 60 years or older, and management says the expansion is needed to accommodate that growing demographic. The new apartments will be either one-bedroom, 1 1/2-bath apartments with approximately 800 sq. ft. of space, or two bedroom, two bath apartments with 1,120 sq. ft.
All will have a patio or balcony, granite countertops, a washer/dryer and stainless steel kitchen appliances. Current residents already have access to on-campus amenities including two restaurants, bus transportation, a bowling alley, woodshop and fitness center.
