Lafayette Hill Wawa to Celebrate its 35th Anniversary Today

Wawa will kick off the festivities at 8:30 a.m.

The Lafayette Hill Wawa, located at the corner of Germantown Pike and Joshua Road, will hold its 35th anniversary celebration starting today at 8:30 a.m.

In honor of its anniversary, the Lafayette Hill Wawa will offer free coffee all day and will offer customers the opportunity to take pictures with Wawa’s mascots — Wally Goose and Shorti — at a special in-store photo booth; all the pictures will be posted through an online photo album at www.wawaversary.com.

The store will also toast the generations of customers and associates for their friendship throughout the years.

At the event, Wawa will make a donation in the amount of $86,700 to the Red Cross; all of the money was raised through in-store coin donations by customers and Wawa employees in Pennsylvania during the first quarter of 2013.

The Lafayette Hill store was in November 1978, according to a Wawa press release. The store has since been remodeled.

This year, Wawa will celebrate milestone anniversaries of 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years for 65 of the stores throughout the Wawa chain. The “Wawaversary” celebrations started in 2009; during these celebrations, Wawa has donated over $2 million to several charities.
