Montco Man Had 45 Images Of Child Porn On His Phone: DA

The suspect also allegedly discussed via text message wanting to sexually assault a 7-year-old child and 8-month-old baby.

GLENSIDE, PA — A Montgomery County man has been arrested after police discovered 45 images of child pornography on his cell phone, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Monday.

James Wheelock, 50, of Glenside, faces charges sexual abuse of children, child pornography, and related counts.

An investigation into Wheelock began after a witness called police and provided them with images of child pornography taken from Wheelock's phone, the DA said.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for Wheelock's Glenside home and found dozens more images on his phone, according to police.

When police arrived at the door, they asked Wheelock if he knew why they were there, according to an affidavit of probable cause. According to police Wheelock said yes, and admitted to viewing child pornography.

A search of Wheelock's phone also contained a text message conversation with an unknown individual in which Wheelock describes wanting to sexually assault a 7-year-old child and an 8-month-old baby, the DA's office said.

Bail was set $10,000. Wheelock failed to post bail and was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 5.

Assistant District Attorney Matthew Brittenburg will prosecute the case.
