Norristown Man Sentenced For Raping Child In His Care For Years: Report

He reportedly threatened to kill the young boy if he told anyone or did not submit to the abuse.

A Norristown man has been sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison for raping a young boy he was caring for over a period of several years, according to a Times Herald report.

Julius Butcher, 44, of East Moore Street, was first suspected in 2011 when the victim’s mother reported the abuse to police, the report states.

The victim told her mother that Butcher had been molesting him since he was 5 years old, according to the report.

Butcher threatened to kill the boy if he told anyone or if he did not submit to the abuse, the report states.

The boy had the courage to come forward after Butcher left their shared residence, according to the report.
